Kate Sullivan Speech & Language Therapist

After spending time travelling and working abroad, Kate graduated from the University of Manchester as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist in 2017. Kate has a wealth of experience of working with children and young people with a range of SLCN in both mainstream and specialist schools and from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Kate specialises in providing a holistic person-centred therapy approach. She is passionate about promoting the Universal, Targeted and Specialist approach in schools. This involves training school staff to be able to deliver targeted group interventions as well as providing training, advice, sharing resources and setting up ‘Communication Friendly Classrooms’. This ensures that the child’s environment is set up to support them to reach their communication potential.

Kate works closely with school staff and is able to develop strong positive relationships with the children, parents and other professionals she work with. Kate has worked with children with a diverse range of conditions such as Down’s Syndrome, ASD, cerebral palsy and ADHD. In addition, she has experience in providing individually tailored support to vulnerable children and families who faced the challenges presented by COVID in addition to their special educational needs.
