Our speech and language therapists are also able to provide parents with advice and strategies to help them to better support their child through the intervention process. Occasionally it is not appropriate for the speech and language therapist and other professionals to work directly with the child, in those cases parents are offered advice and strategies on how they can best help their child to develop their skills at home. If the child is older our professionals can work with the child one to one to identify what strategies best help them.
Our multidisciplinary team work together to collate information from assessments and give a differential diagnosis. Taking into consideration all the findings from each assessment and the impact it may be having on the individual. Diagnosis allows our speech and language therapists to offer the best possible intervention for the individual.
