Case managers
SLT for Kids work with case managers in providing the best possible care to children. The speech and language therapist can arrange to meet with yourself prior to the management of the child to discuss any concerns you may have over a particular case. Our speech and language therapists are able to provide a range of services including assessment, therapy, report writing, advice and training.
We work alongside case managers to ensure the child gets the best possible outcome from therapy and aim to restore a child’s speech, language, communication and swallowing skills. We work in adherence to the 2015 rehabilitation code and are able to provide an immediate assessment of needs and treatment to any children that have had unforeseen changes to their speech, language, communication and swallowing.
Services we provide to case managers
Immediate assessment
We are able to provide an immediate assessment to any child that has had sudden or unexpected changes to their speech, language, communication and swallowing skills. Our speech and language therapists are experts in identifying needs and outlining the amount of therapy it will take for the child to achieve the best outcome possible. We will write a detailed report following the assessment of needs stating the child’s needs, the therapy required, the amount of therapy and the therapeutic goals.
Intervention
Our speech and language therapists will be able to provide any intervention suggested in from the immediate assessment. They are able to treat any child with speech, language, communication and swallowing needs aiming for the best possible outcome for the patient and striving to achieve their goals.
Reviews and update reports
Our speech and language therapist responsible for the intervention will regularly provide updates on how the client is progressing, either through meetings or through regular reports. The progress of the child in context of their goals will be constantly monitored so that case managers can demonstrate the need for treatment as improvements are being made. Our speech and language therapists are flexible and work towards specific client goals.
