Q&A

What inspired you to become a Paediatric Speech and Language assistant?

I was first introduced to speech and language therapy when working as SEN TA in a mainstream primary school. It was within this role that I truly realized the importance of speech and language therapy and the huge impact that therapy can have on a child’s learning and development. I completed various therapy sessions with children with a variety of additional needs under the supervision of the therapist. I knew then that speech and language therapy would be the correct career for me. I am hoping to continue my studies further to become a fully qualified speech and language therapist.

What do you like doing in your spare time?

In my spare time I like to spend time with my family. We are a large family and enjoy days out together at parks and the seaside. I also volunteer at my local Girl Guiding Brownie Unit. I have been volunteering there for over 10 years and have had some great times on residential holidays and day trips.
